We are excited to announce that REPETO will be hosting a Birds-of-Feather (BoF) session on reproducibility at the upcoming joint OSDI/ATC 2024 conference. This session will focus on how to leverage public resources like the Chameleon testbed to enhance experiment artifacts for reproducibility.
Event Details
The 18th USENIX Symposium on Operating Systems Design and Implementation (OSDI ’24) and the 2024 USENIX Annual Technical Conference (USENIX ATC ’24) will be held jointly from July 10–12, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara in Santa Clara, California.
Our reproducibility BoFs are expected to take place during the following time windows:
- Wednesday, July 10: 7:30 pm–8:30 pm (PT)
- Thursday, July 11: 7:30 pm–8:30 pm (PT)
The exact time and location of our BoFs will be announced at the event. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
What to Expect
During this BoF session, attendees will learn about:
- The importance of reproducibility in computer science research
- How to use the Chameleon testbed for creating reproducible experiments
- Best practices for packaging and sharing experimental artifacts
- Demonstrations of successful reproducible experiments using Chameleon
We will showcase various tools and services provided by Chameleon, including its integrated JupyterHub, python-chi
, Chameleon Daypass, and Chameleon Trovi, which facilitate the sharing and reproduction of experiments.
🔔 Interested in Presenting an Artifact? 🔔
If you have an artifact you submitted to the AE review and want to present it, we would love to have you speak at one of the BoFs! Don’t hesitate to get in touch with bastoica@uchicago.edu and mtrichardson@uchicago.edu for more information.
Who Should Attend
This BoF is ideal for researchers, students, and professionals interested in:
- Improving the reproducibility of their work
- Learning about specific reproducibility services built into Chameleon
- Using public testbeds for research and education
- Participating in reproducibility initiatives at conferences
Participants will gain valuable insights into how to make their research more accessible, verifiable, and impactful.
How to Prepare
To get the most out of this session, we recommend:
- Creating a Chameleon account at https://chameleoncloud.org/login
- Familiarizing yourself with the basics of the Chameleon platform (watch our tutorials!)
- Bringing questions about your own research and how it could benefit from improved reproducibility
