Announcing Summer Projects for Summer of Reproducibility 2025

The Summer of Reproducibility (SoR) funds students to work on summer projects related to reproducibility. Inspired by the popular Google Summer of Code model, SoR mentors provide project ideas, and students then bid to work on a project that fits their interests.

Accepted students will receive a stipend. Stipend amounts vary by location and education level (see more resources below). US AND non-US students are eligible to apply.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE OFFERED?

Review the list of SoR projects for 2025 below. Click on a project link to read more about each one.

HOW DO I APPLY?

STEP 1: JOIN our Slack channel (NO LATER than Mar. 23, 2025): Join Slack

STEP 2: FIND a project that interests you (see list below)

STEP 3: SUBMIT your application to the project-specific mentor either using the mentor’s email (provided in the project description) or via the Slack channel. Your application MUST include:

  • Current resume/CV
  • Your current academic affiliation and relevant coursework
  • A short proposal with (no more than 2 pages):
    • Project Goals -> what do you hope to achieve with the project?
    • Project Implementation -> how are you going to achieve those goals?
    • Project timeline -> When will you achieve each milestone and deliverable?

Submit all materials to the appropriate mentor via email or the Slack channel by Apr. 2, 2025.

After you’ve submitted all your materials, mentors will notify you of their selections by May 8, 2025.
